New to snowboarding?
CMSBC programs are not beginner lessons. Crabbe Mountain Snow School offers lessons for first-time riders and those still learning the basics.
Weekend programs

Our eight-week programs combine plenty of riding with purposeful coaching. Canada Snowboard coaches help riders strengthen the fundamentals, safely try new skills, and discover freestyle, snowboard cross, speed, and all-mountain riding. Sessions follow Canada Snowboard's LTAD-based programming while staying flexible, encouraging, and fun.

Supporting the club
Volunteers make club programs and events possible. Canada Snowboard provides defined pathways for people interested in officiating events or developing riders as a coach.
Events pathway
Become an official
Officials support everything from grassroots events to national competitions. Roles can include course support, gate judging, starts, finishes, timing, results, and event leadership.
Level 1: Learn the basics, complete the short theory course, and work in a role at one sanctioned event.
Level 2: Build discipline-specific experience and lead roles in Park and Pipe, Cross, or Alpine.
Level 3: Advance into senior leadership, jury, and technical delegate development.
A current officials or volunteers membership through the appropriate provincial or territorial association is required to work on the field of play.

Become a coach
Coaches mentor riders, plan safe sessions, and help athletes progress. Canada Snowboard’s pathway follows Long-Term Athlete Development and offers recreational and competitive entry points.
Community Stream: A lower-barrier route for recreational camps, inter-club events, and weekend training in a non-competitive scope.
Competition Introduction: The competitive entry point, combining the on-snow course, required NCCP modules, and a Canada Snowboard coaching licence.
Keep progressing: Certification leads to Competition Introduction Advanced, discipline specialization, and higher-performance pathways.

Equipment donations are always welcome, especially specialized snowboards, bindings, and boots. Gear that does not find a home within the club will be placed in the annual ski swap to raise additional funds for CMSBC.
FAQ
Program questions
Is this a beginner snowboard program?
No. Riders must confidently make toe-side and heel-side turns all the way down blue runs. All new Saturday and Sunday program riders must complete an on-hill assessment. This program is also not affiliated with the Crabbe Mountain Snowschool.
When does the 8-10 week program begin?
The program begins in the second week of January. Saturday and Sunday options use the same progression-focused format, with two-hour morning and afternoon sessions on the selected program day.
What does registration cost?
A $50 non-refundable deposit is required, with the remaining $799 due by the second weekend of the program. An active NS Snowboard Recreational Membership is required for every participant.
What happens if snow or weather affects a camp?
Both Into the Park camp dates are tentative and highly dependent on weather, snow conditions, and the availability of suitable terrain park features. If CMSBC is unable to run a camp, its deposit will be refunded.
